The episode focused on how branded content, including podcast appearances and YouTube videos, can support a broader digital marketing strategy. During the conversation, the three guests shared insights into what is currently working in search and offered practical guidance for brands looking to improve visibility in AI-driven search results.
Among the key takeaways Greg shared were the following:
"In today's world of AI search, almost 50% of all Google searches are for branded terms. So, if you are not a recognized brand, you are missing out on about half of the searches happening online. SEO today is more about becoming a recognized brand, and one of the things that is working really well right now to do this is YouTube."
"YouTube is being cited 200X more than any other video platform inside of AI search. Let that sink in. This means that right now there is a small window of opportunity to create YouTube video content centered around keywords in order to get surfaced in AI search, which can help your brand get recognized."
"When it comes to knowing what sort of YouTube content to make, start with what is already performing on your website! Take your highest performing blog and create a YouTube video about the content and then embed the video into the blog post. We did a recent test on this and were able to 3X, 5X and even 10X the number of keywords ranking in the top 3 spots on Google for these blog posts using this method."
